The 3 columns and little wall....

 Ahh the columns and little wall connecting them...

They are a fun detail but after living with them I am excited we are getting rid of most of them. 

It has been a process to figure out what to do with these guys. We call our architect friend and he came over and thought that only the column to the left was load bearing... but he gave us the name of his structural engineer to be sure. So we called him and he said he would come over and check it out and asked Dave to do dome demo on them so he could see more of what was going on structurally. 

 Turns out that the middle one is load bearing too... so we decided that we are going to put in a support beam and take out two of the columns. With the third we will be taking off all of the extra drywall/curved corners from the 90s and making it a simple straight beam.

In doing this I am excited about how open the two rooms will be to each other and there will be no more of this!!!
