days thirty-nine and forty

Saturday was a big day. Potts came in and finished the floors! There are still little areas that need to be fixed and trim pieces put in (and baseboards) but they are so close to being done!

They sanded them down again, filled holes, cleaned them off and then sealed them again. We were not able to be in our house from 9am until 8:30pm. It was a long day, running errands to places with bathrooms, working in the backyard, napping on the couch in the garage etc... but we made it and the floors look amazing.

I am so excited at how great the floors and cabinets look together :)

It is so hard to represent the floors in pictures. You need to come see them in person! They turned out EXACTLY how we wanted them to look. They are the perfect color, lots of variation and great grain, there are random holes (that have been filled but aren't flat) that create a very slight distressed look- which is great because with three little boys and a dog this floor isn't going to stay dent free forever!

We are thrilled with them.

Side note:
One of the things we did while not being able to go in our house was get rid of the fire pit in the backyard.
It was in the middle of the grass and
we don't love pink bricks...

before

There were some areas of dirt and bad grass that Dave decided to fix while we were at it.

Taken from the master bedroom window- much better :)

Although there is still a lot to do
the end seems to finally be in sight.

A lot is supposed to happen this week.
*Crossing my fingers* that all goes smoothly.
